Game Dev Interview: The Making of Dead in Bermuda

After about a year in the making, a new game called Dead in Bermuda is finally available on Steam. Daryna Dorogan of Outsoft, a fan of survival strategy game dev genre made famous by This War of Mine, has reached out to Matthieu Richez, the Director of a menacingly sounding game studio from France called CCCP.

While typically specializing in serious game dev aimed to deliver career insights about various professions to students, in his interview Matthieu shared what motivated him to create Dead in Bermuda and about his unique vision for a game in strategy survival genre. You can watch the game trailer here:

While the game’s premise is deceptively simple, the game experience itself is far from being predictable or linear: a recently published playthrough available on YouTube lasts over 8 hours! Making a game on a budget and a timeline when the game is such complex and beautiful is never easy for any game dev, but Matthieu and his team succeeded.

We encourage you to play this game and to follow the link and get game dev insights from the full interview on Gamasutra.
